Honor someone who can't make your special day

Last year my husband was in basic training and couldn't make it to my birthday.

Before he left he made a "hug-a-daddy" out of an old shirt and pair of shorts stuffed with pillows.  I came in to see this wonderful surprise on my table (courtesy of my indescribably wonderful mother-in-law)

She gave her son life.  And a balloon head.

This is a little soldier my husband bought to play with my daughter for him while he was away.  See the swinging fun he's having?

You + Me, another in the deployment scarf series

Being away from each other is hard, especially when the one you love is in harm's way.  Keep them close to your heart with a custom-woven, uniquely designed set:  For mom, a chevron-patterned scarf, for a teenage girl, a trendy necklace, and for dad who is scheduled to deploy, a set of hearts to carry in his pocket and a bracelet to keep near his bedside.

What's so special about this one?  This beautiful wife sent me 2 shirts:  one his, one hers.  They are forever entwined.

For their 12 year old daughter
Mom will be her rock
while her dad is away
For mom, a black and white
chevron infinity scarf
For dad, a white heart (hers)
connected to a black heart (his)
that can be concealed in his pocket
or under his hat.  And, a bracelet
made of her shirt for him to carry
or keep at his bedside.
