Custom Purse made from BDU's

The story---This purse was made with myself in mind. When shopping for a purse I am always counting pockets. I love to be organized and I love to have a place for every thing in my purse. (Kangaroo carriers, just don't work unless you have a big purse.) Also I can never find a purse that is Camouflage or even slightly Military looking.  These are all things that I like. When I do find a purse that I like usually its a bust because it doesn't have enough pockets.
So on a long trip to Charlotte,NC, I went ahead and stitched it all together. This purse has everything that I want and could want. I added in a pocket to the front for pens and also my cell phone. (its the perfect size!)

The inside I designed to hold a small notebook and pens and also a special place for my wallet (as depicted in the picture below) The bottom that you can see (where the seam ripper is) is about 8 inches deep and you can put a full sized not book in there.

The outside can have more pockets and also can have a key ring put in that you would be able to put your keys. So that you never lose them again.

Custom Upcycled Belt from fav t-shirt, OOAK

Back in my former life as a youth worker (and as someone who wore tie dye) we made these adorable shirts to go to a conference. 

I'm over it. 

But...I'm not ready to let go of the shirt and I'd like a fun accent in my wardrobe.

Deployment Scarf

I'm not gonna lie. When my husband went to Basic Training last year and I had no daily communication or proximity to him I almost lost my isht. Before he left he made me and my daughters a "Hug-a-Daddy," his pillow with his shirt on it. I snuggled next to that every night. I wish I'd had something at the time to bring with me on days I missed him most, but it didn't seem practical to wear his shirt every day. To help other wives, daughters, sons, moms, dads, grandmas, etc who are feeling blue I created the Deployment Scarf. On days you really wish you could be next to your hero but distance is between you, you can wear a reminder of him or her to keep your loved one close to your heart. 

This shirt is made from my husband's battallion PT shirt, but I'm guessing you have a scrap of something that is meaningful to you. Send it to me and I'd love to make you something to get you through your difficult days. Please share with others you know who are missing our troops in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, and Reserves. You never know who needs the lift today.
